Electrolytic and contact gold plating by GRAFMETAL allows for plating objects with a bright layer of gold with an increased wear resistance. The offer applies to 1000 ml container of the gold plating solution (4 g of potassium dicyanoaurate).
Our special solutions allow for gold plating by 2 ways:
As a result of electrolysis by applying cathodic current density of 0,2-0,5 A/dm2
By contacting the plated element with a zinc object, i.e. without using electric power supply (zinc sheet, titanium-zinc or zinc wire are good, while galvanized steel objects are not suitable) with a surface 10 times bigger than the plated object. Metals like zinc or aluminium cannot be plated with this method.

GRAFMETAL gold plating allows for obtaining great effects also on difficult materials, like stainless steel or silver. It requires, however, using special solutions for the surface preparation. We can prepare such a solution according to your needs.
Gold plating process comprises the following steps:
Alkaline degreasing, 1-10 min, room temperature
Rinsing in water
Rinsing in water
Etching (composition depends on the metal to be coated), 1-30 min, room temperature

Gold plating (Time to obtain 0.2 μm layer: 2min40s (0,2 A/dm2, room temperature), 1min30s (0,5 A/dm2, room temperature), 30 min - zinc contact)

The kit does not comprise rinsing water, degreasing and etching solutions. For rinsing it is necessary to use demineralized water or distilled water or low hardness tap water. After each rinsing it is necessary to use another water, i.e. do not use one water container for many operations of rinsing.
Our gold will be great both for decorative and technical purposes. Below it is shown how gold it looks on pieces of jewellery made of silver and stainless steel.
For technical applications gold is used most of all for providing proper electric contacts, what is shown in the pictures below.
