GRAFMETAL Thermal Adhesive is used for bonding and sealing the elements operating at high temperatures reaching 1200°C. The adhesive may be used for bonding of chamotte, bricks concrete, ceramics, metal, stone. It can be used for fireplaces and exhaust systems of vehicles.
Package contains 1700 g of adhesive, which is approximately 900 ml. The adhesive has high density, huge content of fire resistant materials and low content of water.
How to apply::
1. Surfaces to be bonded should be cleaned. They can be moistened with water to improve adhesion.
2. Put on the protective gloves. Apply the adhesive to at least one of the elements to be bonded.
3. Join the elements together.
4. Wait for the adhesive to dry. Drying speed is approximately 2 mm per 24 hours.
5. Full resistance to water is obtained by initial heating the adhesive to 300°C or by strongly soaking it with vinegar and drying it afterwards.
Notes: unburnt adhesive may be washed off with water, after firing to temperatures above 1000°C the adhesive changes colour from yellow to white, fast heating of the adhesive may lead to slight swelling, store tightly closed.
The set comprises of a pail, adhesive in a tightly closed bag, spatula and a couple of protective gloves.
The adhesive is great for fixing and sealing chamotte bricks.
It can also be used for renovation of furnaces and fireplaces.
It can be successfully used for fixing and sealing of silencers and exhaust systems.
The adhesive endures temperatures up to 1200°C. At extremely high temperatures it acquires a form close to ceramics.
