GRAFMETAL UV adhesive allows for aesthetic gluing of various transparent materials, like acrylic (PMMA), glass or PET. The adhesive may be used for making complex acrylic elements or for filling cracks in glass panes. The adhesive requires at least one material to be bonded to be transparent. The offer applies to a 50 mL container of the glue.
The advantage of UV adhesive is that it can be precisely applied to glued parts and then after obtaining the desired effect it might be cured with a respective lamp, which will allow for obtaining nice bonding.
GRAFMETAL glue is equipped with a pippete, which allows for a convenient application of the product.
The adhesive might be cured with various light sources, like:
sun
UV light bulb
UV flashlight
high power halogen lamp, e.g. 400 W, which mostly emits visible light
GRAFMETAL adhesive contains huge portion of light sensitive catalyst, which makes its curing time very short.
Precise curing time needs to be determined experimentally. Example curing times when face bonding 2 pieces of PMMA (acrylic) being 2 mm thick: 20 W UV light bulb: 0,2 cm distance - 3 min, 5 cm distance - 15 min; 400 W halogen light bulb, 15 cm distance - 15 min, 30 cm distance - 30 min. When gluing pieces by the edge (i.e. without PMMA obscuring the light) curing times will be approximately two times shorter for a given distance.
Manual:
Make sure that, when the glue is applied, there will be no UV light exposure.
Apply the glue to planes or edges to be bonded and fix their position.
Irradiate it with UV light.
Many glues due to inadequate composition cannot be used for bonding acrylic (PMMA), because after several days after curing cracks might appear on a glued piece.
This is no such problem in case of GRAFMETAL glue, because the composition was developed in such a way that no cracks form in acrylic.
